We’ve counted more than 20 ways that over 400 Floral Heights volunteers have given their time, talents and energy this past year to serve our church, community and world in the name of Jesus.
We hope ALL of you will come and be recognized for ALL you do!

Plan to be in worship each Sunday as we celebrate our “ministers” and ministries here at FHUMC!

Our next Night of Healing Service will be on Sunday, May 20^th,at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel.  Please mark your calendars now and plan to come and bring a friend!

This is a very special & meaningful service and is a great blessing to our church family and friends that lets us to come together to pray for one another and worship God through His Word and music.

THE WHOLE CHURCH is invited and encouraged to come to the Fellowship Hall for Fellowship …we will also have coffee, juice and sweet rolls, a bit of music and Anita Beeks will be our special speaker.   Look forward to seeing you there!

We will be welcoming new members to our Floral Heights UMC church family at a special picnic dinner on  Wednesday, May 23, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Bridwell Park (across 10th Street from the church).

This will be a great opportunity for long-time members to meet and get to know those who have joined our church since July of last year. The evening’s meal will be a box dinner from the Chicken Box, and will include fried chicken, mashed potatoes, fried okra, dessert, tea, water and lemonade. Please bring your own lawn chairs. Cost is $6 for long-time members, and free to new members. To make reservations contact the church office at 723-7151. Reservation deadline is noon, May 22. Please plan to join us in welcoming new members to Floral Heights at the picnic at Bridwell Park on May 23.

 Please join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Bring your families and join the fun with food and fellowship. Hotdogs and drinks will be provided. Please bring chips, a side dish, or a dessert to share.

 There will be a special area for hunting eggs for our little ones through preschool age. There will be another area for our kindergarteners through six graders.

We will also have activities for the kids as well as face painting. Hope to see you there.

Fun. Friendly. Faith-building. That’s what kids’ church at Floral Heights is all about. We launched our fall program in September with an emphasis on how special each one of us is to God. In October, the focus in on how special God is to us.  He is our purifier — He cleans us up from our sins. He is our power, our helper — the One we can always call on in prayer, and finally, He is our protector. Each week, our time together includes a short time of praise and worship — singing — and then an object lesson, Bible truth, and memory verse. Things might get a little crazy with our object lesson, but it brings the point home. Toward the end of our time together, we divide up in small groups which gives each child an opportunity to share prayer concerns and joys. There is a feeling of excitement and enjoyment in kids’ church. Brenda Marsh told me that Freddy, her grandson, asked every day for a week, “Is today kids’ church?” That is our hope for each child — to have such a desire to be a part of kids’ church, learning and growing in a relationship with Christ and other young believers.

 Fun. Friendly. Faith-building. That’s what it’s all about.
